Specifically, given that the IGF was nearly cancelled this year, we really need to discuss what needs to happen so we are not in that position again. For example, should the host country demonstrate, before officially accepting the hosting responsibility, its ability to raise funds? Should the IGF modify its funding mechanisms? Else?</div><p style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; "> </p><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; ">What happened this summer not only had the potential to majorly undermine the IGF, but also the principle of multistakeholderism. Not to mention its significance in light of the ITU/post-WCIT environment.
