In mid-2024, with support from the European Union, Oxfam Ireland launched a 3-year multi-country program to amplify the voices of Global South civil society partner organisations on issues of digital rights in their contexts. The partners are implementing the project in the following focus countries: Bolivia, Cambodia, El Salvador, Kenya, Palestine, Senegal, Somalia, Tunisia, Uganda and Vietnam. This group of partners is diverse, and the issues vary by context, but the uniting theme is our shared commitment to a rights-respecting digital ecosystem for all. At this booth, we plan to share information about recent and ongoing activities by our partners, including research reports on digital rights threats facing vulnerable communities in the 10 focus countries, lessons learned supporting communities and other members of civil society facing digital security threats such as tech-facilitated gender-based violence, analysis of key digital rights laws and policies like privacy and personal data protection frameworks, and digital rights awareness raising and capacity building materials in different formats. This information will be displayed using both digital and physical communications tools, combining accessible design principles, clear communication and interactive elements to foster interactions with meeting participants. In this way, we aim to highlight the needs and experiences of our partners and the communities they work with and provide critical insights that can inform digital governance discussions during the 20th annual IGF and help build thought leadership on issues at the intersection of digital rights and our mission to end inequality.
