SUMMARY REPORT

 

 

About 

  1. The sixth and seventh virtual meetings of the National and Regional IGF initiatives (NRIs), took place on 18 June at 08:00 a.m. and 14:00 p.m. UTC. The IGF Secretariat hosted two meetings on the same subject agenda, in order to accommodate NRIs participants form different time zones. This report reflects major outcomes from both meetings.
  2. Meeting was hosted by Ms. Anja Gengo from the IGF Secretariat. The agenda is attached to this document as Annex A1 and a list of Meeting Participants as Annex A2. 

     
  3. The purpose of the meeting was to cluster received inputs to the NRIs Main Session Call into major areas of interest.

 

Summary Report

  1. The Host reminded that 33 initiatives submitted multiple inputs, as shown in the public spreadsheet. 

     
  2. The coordinators reviewed all received inputs, and agreed to cluster them into major areas of interest, which are:

    IG Ecosystem and Developments

    Cybersecurity

    Access

    New Emerging Technologies


    Digital/Media Literacy

    Digital Economy/Digitization (of daily lives)

    Data

    Digital divide and inclusiveness

    Privacy

    Gender

    Youth

    Digital Transformation

    InnovationsRights in the digital/online world 

    IG Ecosystem and Developments 

    Cybersecurity 

    Access 

    New Emerging Technologies 

    Digital/Media Literacy 

    Digital Economy/Digitization (of daily lives)

  3. It was agreed that the first five top rated major areas of interest will be submitted to the MAG, in order of a priority.

     
  4. It was agreed that the Focal Point will developed a proposal for the NRIs main session, to be reviewed and approved by the NRIs. It was noted that the final proposal will reflect these topics as well as the objectives from the NRIs Session Guidelines

     
  5. Participants didn’t have any edits to the NRIs Session Guidelines.

     
  6. The NRIs collaborative sessions will be discussed on the next call, due to the time limitations of this one.

 

Next Steps

  1. The Secretariat will send the summary report to the NRIs mailing list, and ask for feedback.

     
  2. If there won’t be objections from the NRIs, a proposal for the NRIs collaborative sessions will be developed.

     
  3. Next meeting: The Secretariat will distribute the Doodle poll for the members of the NRIs to cast the votes for the best time slots for the next virtual meeting.
