Anja and I can raise this idea also, Wanawit, with the NRI list, and also ask the supporter of some of the youth IGFs to give consideration to this idea of a lightening talk track. Fortunately, one of the supporters is here with me at the CSTD, and I can speak to her directly, and also engage the IGF Secretariat in the discussion, as they are also attending the Commission on Science and Technology for Development.
I hope all MAG members have had a chance to review the excellent comments of the Chair, and the IGF Secretariat, from yesterday's panel at CSTD.
As the CSTD drafts its Resolution for ECOSOC, there will be references to the IGF, and I am happy to share draft language, as it is available. Also, I see a few CSTD countries that have MAG members here in the CSTD.

Dear Miguel and Marilyn,
Great proposal and several NRI also have the Youth Program and it might be great idea to have a slot for Lightning Talk that if the national initiative could arrange a kind of program and pick up the best one from there country and sponsor to participate in the IGF that might be more participation for the youth to this program as well.I try to discussed here in our IGF Thailand and see whether they could support this activity.

this is an excellent and well thought out proposal, in my view. I also like the idea of a booth type setting, that can also be scheduled on a part time basis, so that a group that wants to have a presence but has limited booth resources [people/time],
might share a booth location on a one day basis with other groups. that would take a little designing so that the look and feel would shift each day, but it might be useful to consider.
Finally, I will share your proposal with the NRI Coordinators' list for feedback, as I think that it is possible that many of the NRIs [National and Regional IGF Initiatives] may be interested in the short slots, but it is best for me to ask them their
views, rather than speak before they consider.

Subject: [IGFmaglist] Proposal for Working Group on Innovative Session Formats

Dear MAG members,
I submit the following proposal for your consideration.Working Group on Innovative Session FormatsWith the purpose to attract young people, and algo have spaces where people can share their ideas without occupying a complete session slot when it is not really needed, we should
consider evaluating innovative session formats. Also, some of the formats could give more space for participants who other way could not be able to present their ideas and projects.2 new formats were proposed but we may consider others:Lightning Talks
A lightning talk is a very short presentation lasting only a few minutes. Several lightning talks will usually be delivered by different speakers in a single

The proposal is to have them during and in the same spaces as lunch and coffee breaks. That way we give the presenters (mostly young people if defined) to have a place and an audience in order to share their ideas and projects.

For example: 10 minutes sessions / 10 slides presentations

Barcamp Sessions
We should reserve a special room for a day (or more maybe) for this kind of unconference sessions where anyone can schedule his/her own session by writing on a whiteboard or putting a Post-It note on a 'grid' of sessions during the morning.

For example: The whiteboard opens at 8.30AM with 30 minutes slots. The sessions are from 10AM until 1PM and from 3PM until 6PM. People arriving before 8:30AM will wait in a queue and will have the chance to schedule only one 30 minutes session each.
