Jean-Paul Philippot is the General Administrator of the Radio Télévision Belge de la Communauté Française (RTBF) since February 2002.
He is a graduate of Solvay Business School (Université Libre de Bruxelles) and served as a consultant within the health care sector until joining the office of Charles Picqué, Minister-President of the Brussels-Capital Region in 1989.
In 1996, he became Managing Director of Brussels’ public hospitals (IRIS). He held this position for six years until then entering the audiovisual world and taking up his post at RTBF in 2002. During his tenure at RTBF, he has overseen three successive reviews of the organisation and its strategy in 2002, 2007 and 2012.
He has served as President of the EBU since 2009 and began his fifth term in this post since January 1st, 2013. He is also the President of Régie Media Belge (RMB).
