IGF 2018 WS #109 Youth and SIG

The role of youth is considered immense everywhere, they are considered the next generation leaders and a prominent stakeholder of the internet ecosystem but with such responsibilities they are marginalized in many ways. From their rights to access to their problems and challenges youth have be ignored in terms of adaptation and standardization issues in internet ecosystem. Especially in various part of the world where the next billion is coming, they are marginalized in many ways of making their voices and issues heard. The key to the outreach and diversity is the youth and especially when it comes to reaching out to the unreachable, the role and scope of young leadership certainly matters. But in most of the internet organization the scope and role of youth is very limited though there is a huge recognition of empowering the youth with various fellowship and capacity building program but there is a limited opportunity for youth leadership. This is a reality which haunts most of the internet communities and considered one of the biggest hurdle.
