    Description

Central America is one of the most violent non-war regions in the world and violence is also present in the digital sphere, where women and LGBTIQ+ people are more vulnerable. The region has many challenges related to online gender-based violence: there is not enough data, legislation and public policies are insufficient and efforts about online safety are needed. This lightning talk will present the results of the project "Segur@s en línea: hackeando la violencia digital" (We safe online: hacking digital violence) about digital violence in Central America and Dominican Republic, which includes an anonymous survey results, interviews, the rapprochement with stakeholders, the online platform "Segur@s en línea" with interactive resources and the experience (challenges and learning) developing the project, in order to motive stakeholders to propose similar initiatives and investigations in their own cities, countries and regions.

We will invite people onsite and online to ask questions and participate. We won´t prioritize onsite or online attendees, but both in equally conditions.
