    SDGs

    9. Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

Targets: We believe that the theme of the session is in line with SDG 9, where we will be able to talk about the video surveillance industry and the disruptive innovation it brings to the public.

    Description:

Massive video surveillance systems have found in Latin America a niche to grow and expand without regulations or opposition from the population, rather governments buy and install without control supported by a citizenry tired of high crime rates that relies on video surveillance as their last hope for peace.

The session seeks to generate a conversation with global actors on the installation of these systems, the experiences of the participants according to their countries, and the construction of a consensus document that allows civil society to act together with the government on the systems.

    Expected Outcomes

It is expected to produce a joint communiqué requesting no more purchases of video surveillance systems.

Hybrid Format: The session will use digital platforms of easy access for onsite and virtual participants, allowing active participation regardless of the location of the participant, moderator, and panelists.

We have in mind genially, menti, among others.
