    1. Healthcare for all
    2. Human resource development
    3. Ecosystem approach to healthcare delivery

Connection with previous Messages: Without training, the Internet can increase fragmentation and division, leading to broader inequity. So, this season is consistent with the overall theme of the IGF

    SDGs

    4. Quality Education
    5. Gender Equality
    8. Decent Work and Economic Growth

    Targets: SDG 4. Quality Education
    SDG 5. Gender Equality
SDG 8. Decent Work and Economic Growth.

In the session, we will discuss the quality of education and skilling needed for training the frontline healthcare workers, balancing gender ( more involvement of women) leading to dignified work and economic upliftment.

    Description:

There are about 65 million healthcare workers. While Digital Health is becoming the default platform for healthcare delivery. No one is focusing on the training of the frontline healthcare workers on digital tools. If we don't address this issue, soon we will run into a break down of the healthcare delivery. As in urban areas, healthcare workers will be using digital tools, while the front line healthcare workers will be left behind and ultimately, we would increase the divide and fragmentation. We can address this by training the healthcare workers at the last mile.

    Expected Outcomes

The session will help bring focus on the issue of skilling of rural healthcare workers and frontline health workers across developing countries. The discussion will result in crucial takeaways as a 'Whitepaper on Frontline Health Workers and their training needs. We hope to submit this to the World Health Organization and governments across the developing world for drafting the policy, framework and a program for skilling healthcare workers.

Hybrid Format: We will use Zoom as a tool to connect with the online audience. Last year I conducted a session at IGF - DC-Jobs to host a session, and it was successful where people joined from the EU, India, U.K., Africa and the US.
