Not only is this session aligned with IGF's 2023 sub-theme, it also relates to the 2022 Sub-themes Governing Data and Protecting Privacy. The speakers will highlight the importance of Data Sovereignty, share the work of Mozilla Foundation's Data Futures Lab and how it is helping pilot new models for data stewardship with existing communities. They will also provide real-world examples of how users and communities, especially those from the Global South, can be given greater ownership and control over their own data.
On-site and online. We will prepare an online version of this session moderated by at least of our staff members to include online participants, and to answer questions from the online community. Our hosts on-site will engage with participants who will be physically present at IGF.
