IGF 2023 Open Forum #167 Launch of the UN GCCM Solutions Lab Tech Branch

At this IGF session, we will inaugurate the tech branch of the UN Global Centre for Climate Mobility Solutions Lab. This launch event marks a significant step forward in addressing climate change and enhancing resilience through the promotion and acceleration of climate mobility solutions. This session will provide an in-depth overview of the Lab's approach to identifying and scaling solutions from grassroots innovators to global implementations. We will also elaborate on the key role of the Solutions Accelerator, a unique platform that establishes strategic partnerships, fostering connections between innovators, potential investors, venture capitalists, and supportive organizations. Through this launch event, we will spotlight how the Lab and its tech branch leverages technological resources and expertise, equipping innovators with cutting-edge tools, platforms, and infrastructure necessary for rapid climate mobility solution development and implementation. A pivotal part of this session will be dedicated to the role and contribution of young people. As we unveil this ambitious initiative, we will discuss our plans to nurture the next generation's innovative spirit, fostering their vision and entrepreneurial drive in the creation of climate mobility solutions. The event will also invite some of the youth entrepreneurs that have been sponsored through the overall efforts of the Solutions Lab to speak

1) Facilitating Interaction: In order to ensure seamless interaction between onsite and online speakers and attendees, we will have two dedicated moderators: one onsite and one online. The moderators will work together in synchrony to facilitate the session, making sure that questions and comments from both the in-person and online participants are heard and addressed. The online moderator will monitor the virtual platform to promptly handle any queries, comments, or technical issues, while the onsite moderator will manage the physical interactions. Furthermore, we will utilize the chat function for real-time commentary and Q&A sessions, enabling online participants to interact directly with speakers and other participants. 2) Designing the Session: We are committed to providing an equal experience to all participants, regardless of their mode of attendance. The session will be designed to balance the content and interaction between both online and onsite participants. A dedicated segment of the session will be reserved for virtual attendees to pose questions and contribute to discussions. We will also ensure that any visuals, presentations, or supplemental material are visible and accessible to both online and in-person attendees. 3) Complementary Tools and Platforms: In addition to the technical tools provided by the IGF Secretariat and the Host Country, we plan to use Mentimeter and Miro boards to enhance participation and interaction. Mentimeter will allow us to create interactive polls and gather live feedback from the audience, both onsite and online. Miro boards will be used for collaborative brainstorming and visualization, allowing all participants to contribute to discussions and share their ideas visually. These tools will be integrated within the session to foster an engaging and collaborative environment for all attendees, whether they are joining us virtually or in person.
