Targets: This session will emphasize the importance of the Dynamic Coalition in establishing and fostering collaborations with global stakeholders and institutions through the Dynamic Coalition on ROAM. This collaborative effort aims to shape global digital transformation, promote digital collaboration, and contribute to the formulation of the global digital compact. UNESCO's Internet Universality Indicators framework addresses the lack of global and national standards and serves as a comprehensive research tool to foster Internet policies that promote sustainable development, especially the above highlighted targets, in all countries.
Roundtable
This will be an interactive hybrid roundtable, facilitated by targeted questions.
The Dynamic Coalition on Internet Universality ROAM-X indicators, which was launched at the IGF 2020, has played a critical role in advancing digital governance in over 40 countries across five continents. The Coalition has organized meetings and sessions consistently during global IGF and regional IGF conferences in Africa, Asia Pacific, EuroDIG, and other high-level events where UNESCO is actively engaged.
This year, the Dynamic Coalition session will discuss the way forward following the launch of the Second Generation Internet Universality Indicators framework.
The session also aims to continue encouraging collaboration with multi-stakeholders within the IGF community to jointly advance evidence-based digital policy making.
To this end, this session will trigger discussions to achieve below objectives:
Discuss the role of the updated ROAM-X framework and UNESCO in light of various challenges posed by digital transformation.
Reflect on how the updated ROAM-X framework can better support the formulation of digital governance policies at national level.
Gather and expand the members of IGF Dynamic Coalition on Internet Universality ROAM-X indicators, expand partnership with the Dynamic Coalition community to advance human rights based digital governance.
UNESCO will prepare targeted questions for the speakers (online and onsite) and for the participants to ensure active engagement from everyone. to this end, there will be no long presentations.
