Targets: The Digitize your city campaign seeks to make citizens aware of the data that is generated and can contribute to the creation of cloud services and a “smart city” through cultural interventions and actions such as mapping cultural assets or simply tourist attractions. With this we seek to raise awareness about the existence of smart services in cities where they are not present and thus stimulate the organization of its citizens to appropriate tools that allow them to generate them.

    Description

in the site http://digitalizate.clisi.org/ we include our first action of this campaign that we want to reach more institutions and that they join, advancing steps already with volunteers of free culture and free cartography, in which we invite to concrete actions of digital urban intervention, like documenting photographically a site and upload it to the main sites that feed the services of “smart city” like google maps or wikicommons, or to make cartography of the cultural goods. Thus, creating awareness of how technology can be a tool to live better, have a friendlier city or even facilitate tourism as an industry for economic development.

We want this campaign to expand throughout the Latin American region because we are convinced that its nature can be of great help.
