    Description

Children and young people play a vital role in the digital age as one of the key stakeholders. Not only do they actively use the internet but also participate as social actors in this digital realm. Currently, various youth-led initiatives serve as good practices, showing how to empower the younger generation and engage them in Internet Governance. These initiatives contribute to the sustainable development of the digital environment through hands-on community projects.

This lightning talk aims to showcase the power of youth-led projects and initiatives (such as youth research and youth-driven community projects). It highlights the significance of involving the youth community in internet governance and promoting positive and sustainable societal development by effectively utilising digital platforms and approaches. The session will feature youth representatives from a range of initiatives, demonstrating the influence and positive outcome of engaging and empowering the younger generation. Furthermore, by collaborating with diverse stakeholders, the projects can promote youth inclusion in internet governance and carry forward meaningful social actions.

The online moderator will also facilitate remote participation and monitor incoming questions and comments from remote attendees. Those responses will be shared with the presenters to enable interaction with offsite participants.
