Format description: The format of the Open Forum is intended to be a debate between the Youth IGF change-makers and the members of the European Parliament delegation to the IGF.
During the Open Forum we would like to discuss and present to decision-makers the youth vision and inputs on the Future of the Internet.
Objective:
This Open Forum proposal aims to facilitate a critical dialogue between young leaders and the European Parliament delegation. The focus will be on presenting and discussing the youth vision for the future of the internet, emphasizing digital governance and its implications for development.
This proposal aims to bridge the gap between young visionaries and policymakers by providing a time for open dialogue on the future of the internet, as envisioned by youth leaders. The proposal seeks to highlight and integrate the unique insights and innovative ideas of young individuals into the policy processes concerning digital governance. By facilitating this exchange, the proposal endeavors to empower young leaders, ensuring their perspectives on digital development are heard and valued at a global level. This session will not only foster mutual understanding but also catalyze actionable steps towards inclusive and forward-thinking internet governance processes.
Format:
The Open Forum will adopt a debate format, fostering an interactive and dynamic exchange of ideas. Youth IGF change-makers will engage directly with members of the European Parliament delegation. This setup will not only ensure that the voices of the youth are heard but also integrate their inputs into broader policy discussions.
Outcome:
The workshop will produce a comprehensive report summarizing the youth's perspectives on digital governance.
The session is foreseen as an open dialogue with equal participation onsite and online. The organiser and the co-organiser will give a few introductory tips.
