As a global private cybersecurity company, Kaspersky aims to further contribute to the IGF 2024 overarching theme "Building our Multistakeholder Digital Future" and the following IGF 2024 sub-themes: “Improving Digital Governance for the Internet We Want” and “Advancing Human Rights and Inclusion in the Digital Age”. 1) Safeguarding children online Creating a safe online environment for children is a top priority that will shape our future. Our efforts are highlighted by Kaspersky’s development of its Safe Kids solution, its active participation in numerous educational initiatives aimed at promoting cyber hygiene among the young generation. Kaspersky is a founding member of the Alliance for the Protection of Children in the Digital Environment, which was created by the Russian Federation’s largest IT companies in September 2021. As an active member of the International Telecommunications Union’s Council Working Group on Child Online Protection, Kaspersky shared a report on its progress in protecting children in the digital domain and expected trends for 2024. To help improve the digital awareness of children and their parents, Kaspersky’s experts prepared the Cybersecurity Alphabet, a fun and informative book and poster for children and their parents on how to recognize fraudsters’ tricks and learn the importance of staying safe online. Prior to this release, Kaspersky published a children’s fiction book — Midori Kuma and a Very Special Race — which informs children about online safety at a level suitable to them. 2) Bolstering diversity and inclusion in IT and cybersecurity Kaspersky is committed to challenging gender stereotypes from an early age and making IT education accessible and open to everyone. In this regard, Kaspersky works with schools and universities to provide all students, regardless of gender, with information about IT education and the opportunity to unleash their potential in the tech sector. To inspire as many girls as possible to pursue a career in IT and cybersecurity, Kaspersky has also launched another online project – the Empower Women website – in which Kaspersky’s women employees discuss their educational paths, career development, participate in podcasts, and provide valuable insights and advice. 3) Developing and promoting high standards of trust and transparency through the Global Transparency Initiative (GTI) Trust relies on transparency, verification and accountability: Users need to have the possibility to understand what is actually happening with the technology they use, and with their data. Kaspersky’s Global Transparency Initiative, offers a number of actionable and concrete measures to enhance transparency and accountability for trustworthy cybersecurity solutions. Within the framework of the GTI Kaspersky works with the cybersecurity community to prioritize transparency and accountability, and to enhance the security of software products, to further build consumer trust. Kaspersky’s core belief is that through collaborative multi-stakeholder efforts confidence and trust in technology can be significantly enhanced. 4) Advancing cooperation with law enforcement agencies Cooperation is essential in the fight against cybercrime. Kaspersky works with national, regional or international law enforcement organizations, such as INTERPOL, in the best interests of international cybersecurity, providing technical consultations or expert analysis of malicious programs to support cybercrime investigations and in accordance with applicable laws.
