    Description
Our online presence only grows, as living totally offline is fast becoming impossible for an ever growing number of people. Security however seems always lagging behind, undermining our sense of safety online. With the deployment by the ICT industry of a number of relatively easy measures that sense of safety and security will be increased considerably. How to convince the ICT-industry to adopt these measures? In the past three years IS3C has shown the way in its reports and tools. It is time for the next phase. Especially now a new technique like quantum computing is getting ever closer. Where security is concerned, the only opportunity we have to ensure this technology is deployed consistent with the principles of security by design, is now! In this session the Internet Standards, Security and Safety Coalition (IS3C) will propose a number of actions that will assist you or your organisation in how to demand a more secure and safer Internet from your suppliers. These actions will help to set your requirements for security when buying and procuring ICTs, and will assist governments and industry to create policies relating to the acquisition of ICT network devices and services and on their security. Whether you are a consumer, company, (governmental) organisation or from the technical community, this session is a must for you to attend.

The online and on-site moderators will be in constant contact and will let comments and interventions alternate between the room and the online room. IS3C will invite experts who may not be in Oslo and will make sure they will have well-provided options to contribute.
