Description
In recent years, the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies has brought new opportunities and empowered the "silver economy" industry to actively explore the feasibility of using AI to support elderly care services.
The elderly individuals have diverse personal preferences and health conditions, which require the market to conduct thorough research and provide precise services. For example, the privat sectors need to engage in long-term after-sales service follow-up, continuously improving the research, development, testing, and promoting the elderly care products. With the advancement of big data and computing algorithms, personalized needs of the elderly could be better considered at the early design and development stage. It is expected that within the next 3-5 years, the first batch of elderly care robots will emerge. The combination of "elderly + robots" or "elderly + robots + service personnel" will become a future model of AI-based elderly care services. On the other hand, it is also important to focus on strengthening governance. The elderly care industry shall be under regulation, such as issues of protecting personal privacy and preventing AI-related fraud. Establishing a sophisticated and comprehensive governance system also requires the assistance of AI. Therefore, to promote the development of the aging economy, it is necessary to further strengthen top-level design. In the formulation of industrial policies, how to realize the governance for development to be AI for good is an important issue that requires careful consideration.
In this regard, this session will invite different stakeholders to discuss how AI could precisely empower the elderly care industry and enhance the quality of life for the seniors. Speakers will be invited to share the best practices as well as their profound insights and observations on related topics.
After presentation, Q&A will be arranged between speakers and audience both onsite and online. Before and after the session, some background info will share to the onsite and online attendees, such as online links, printed background paper. During the sesson, the moderator will actively encourage the audience to raise question and control the presentation time of speakers. It is planed to post the official news and social media as well as deliver message at the IGF booth to attract more participants to the session.
