    Description
As digital consumption rises, electronic waste (e-waste) has become a critical environmental and policy challenge. The rapid turnover of internet-connected devices—such as smartphones, laptops, and data center hardware—creates an escalating waste problem that threatens sustainability. This session will explore how internet governance, digital innovation, and policy frameworks can mitigate the negative impact of e-waste and promote a circular digital economy. The discussion will focus on: Tech industry accountability in designing sustainable, repairable, and recyclable devices. The role of digital platforms in promoting responsible e-waste disposal and consumer awareness. Emerging technologies (AI, blockchain, IoT) for tracking, managing, and reducing e-waste. International policies and best practices for e-waste regulation and recycling. This session brings together experts, policymakers, industry leaders, and youth advocates to explore collaborative solutions that balance digital transformation with sustainability. Participants will gain insights into innovative policies, green tech initiatives, and circular economy strategies to tackle the growing e-waste crisis while ensuring a responsible digital future.
