It will be a space for exchanging experiences, building partnerships, and proposing concrete actions.

Description
The session will discuss how meaningful connectivity is essential to strengthening the protection of the Amazon Rainforest, highlighting internet access and web applications as crucial tools for ensuring the rights of people living in remote areas, environmental conservation, and the exchange of ancestral knowledge. The session will address topics such as the role of community networks in the Amazon, the data sovereignty of communities, the low diversity of players in providing internet access, and the impact of connectivity on organizing forest defense movements. This session will focus on Theme 3, Universal Access and Digital Rights, emphasising local connectivity, community-based networks, and solutions for affordable universal access.
**Expected Outcomes:**
- Raise awareness about the importance of meaningful connectivity for environmental protection.
- Contribute to public policies and initiatives that promote sustainable community networks in remote areas.
- Foster connections among actors in the internet governance ecosystem to drive future actions.
- Identify challenges and opportunities to improve internet access in traditional communities.

**Interaction and Participation in a Hybrid Event:** Facilitation of Interaction: We will use tools such as Zoom or Google Meet to allow online participants to send questions and comments in real-time. The moderator will ensure that questions are answered by both onsite and online speakers. Session Design: The session will be divided into short blocks (e.g., 5-minute presentations followed by open discussions) to maintain engagement. A technical producer will ensure that online participants are seamlessly included. Online Tools: In addition to Slido/Mentimeter, we will use a chat platform for interaction among participants.
