    Description
Open-source technologies, including digital public goods (DPGs) are playing a pivotal role in fostering digital cooperation by enhancing multistakeholder inclusivity and broadening access to new technologies. DPGs notable mention within the Global Digital Cooperation underscores the potential they have to accelerate the attainment of the SDGs and forge new cooperation. This networking event invites participants wishing to share, adopt, adapt, or discover new open-source technologies, relevant for use cases related to digital public infrastructure or broader attainment of the SDGs, to come together to make new connections. Based loosely on the concept of a “traffic light party” participants will receive different colored-lanyards indicating their technology-seeking status. Color codes will indicate whether participants have an open technology they’d like to share, are considering or looking to share a technology that is not currently open, or are interested in adopting an existing open technology. Based on the value of open-source technologies, specifically digital public goods, as enablers of digital cooperation, this informal networking event will facilitate digital collaboration in real lime, decreasing the apprehension and barriers often associated with approaching potential collaborators through a fun, lively, and social atmosphere.

Following the opening remarks (to be streamed for virtual participants). Virtual participants will be invited to participate in breakout rooms, each containing a combination of participant-types. Each room will be facilitated by a DPGA staff member and overall facilitation will be led by the DPGA Secretariat’s COO, Lucy Harris. For the last 10 minutes, participants will asked to share in the chat what they learned/would like to highlight from their conversations, which will be highlighted by onsite moderators.
