Roundtable
Duration (minutes): 90
Format description: The session will be used for multistakeholder engagement on the three main tracks of the Digital Economy Working Groups and the cross-cutting High-Level Task Force on AI, Data Governance and Innovation under the South African G20 Presidency. A large, roundtable format will allow people to come to the roundtable to make their inputs and engage. Along these lines, the tracks will be divided into three components of 30 minutes each for consultation: Equitable digital inclusion; DPI for Transformation and Just Artificial Intelligence. The different engagement groups, B20, C20, T20 and Y20, will be asked to respond briefly to each of the issues highlighted in the G20 digital transformation agenda. This will allow for more interactive engagement with those around the table.

Description
The South Africa Government, which holds the Presidency of G20 this year, will start with a short address on its theme of equality, solidarity and sustainability. The program for the roundtable will be divided into three main areas of the digital transformation agenda: Equitable Digital Inclusion, DPI for Transformation and Just Artificial Intelligence. The South African Government will briefly present the positions in the issues note of the G20 Digital Economy Working Group and the concept note of the Task Force on AI, and Data Governance and Innovation which are publicly available and will be circulated prior to the forum.
The engagement groups C20, B20, T20 and Y20 will then respond to two of the topics each, leaving some time for input from the floor. These will be included in an IGF report to feed into the G20 deliberations on these issues and also inform research briefs that form part of the wider digital transformation agenda across the working and engagement groups.
The session will be very tightly moderated, with a six-minute opening address, three topics for discussion of 25 minutes each and the closing remarks and next steps of 8 minutes. For each of the topics the G20 DEWG issues note, there will be a three-minute summary (as the issue note is already publicly available), with a five-minute input from the engagement groups on only two of the topics and 10 minutes for input from the roundtable. (G20 Digital Transformation agenda issue e.g. digital inclusion (3 mins), respondents from two stakeholder groups (5 x2) audience interaction 10 minutes X 3). At least three of five of the organisers will be present, with close coordination between the present moderator and online moderator so that the flow of the program moves seamlessly between those on and offline. The online moderator will be part of online panels and will be able to coordinate speakers and audience inputs. Both the moderator and the online moderator will have online support to backchannel online communications for the session. Only in-room projection and online meeting platform will be needed. The largest possible roundtable will be required.
