Policy Question(s)
1.How to design innovation standards that are acceptable to multiple stakeholders and avoid unfair distribution of digital dividends while balancing diverse needs?
2.How can global governance integrate ethical values throughout the AI innovation cycle to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals?
What mechanisms can ensure that AI solutions are ethically rooted, socially inclusive and risk resilient through collaborative governance?
What will participants gain from attending this session? 1.The forum will invite experts from universities, industry organisations and companies from different regions to share and discuss.
2.The forum will explore how to achieve social and ethical goals in the innovation process and provide morally acceptable, socially acceptable, and developmentally sustainable solutions to the significant societal risks posed by AI applications through multi-party collaborative mechanisms, inclusive frameworks, and common practices.
SDGs
Description:
Discuss how responsible innovation can be effective in artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. Ensuring responsible innovation aims to provide morally acceptable, socially acceptable, and developmentally sustainable solutions to the significant societal risks posed by the application of science and technology, as well as a focus on human values and needs throughout the process of technology application. (i)Ethical considerations and ethical governance programs for technology. Through ethical governance innovation, in the governance of negative effects of science and technology innovation, technological conflicts, control dilemmas, emerging science and technology ethical disputes and other difficult problems and fill the regulatory loopholes in the field of emerging science and technology. (ii)Inclusive understanding and multi-party cooperation for responsible innovation. Understand multi-stakeholder ecosystems and the different stakeholders involved and their respective interests. Examining inclusive collaboration frameworks to facilitate multi-stakeholder collaboration to enable innovation to deliver more equitable outcomes and promote trust, acceptability and sustainability. (iii)Common practice and sustainability.Seeks the feasibility and practicality of responsible innovation by promoting the practice of multiple innovation governance tools in the direction of scientific and technological values. It also focuses on research to solve major real-world risk issues such as education, healthcare, economy, prejudice, and the dissolution of human subjectivity, and promotes the health and sustainability of AI. of responsible innovation.

Expected Outcomes
Publication of the Synthesis of the Forum“Responsible Innovation in Artificial Intelligence at IGF 2025: Ethical Governance & Collaboration”.
Hybrid Format: 1. Prior to the workshop, conduct research to provide first-hand information and data;
2. Multiple parties, including CFIS, Wuhan University, Oslo Metropolitan University, co-organize and host a pre-forum on ‘Responsible AI Innovation: Ethical Governance & Collaboration’ to broaden the scope of the issue.
3. Design question and open discussion sessions during the workshop to encourage the sharing of ideas.
4. Prepare visual materials (i.e. videos, images, infographics). Visual materials are used throughout the workshop to enliven the atmosphere, aid understanding, and assist those whose first language is not English.
