SDGs
Description:
This Workshop will examine how emerging technologies (i.e., AI, quantum computing, IoT) can transform the governance of digital health to be more inclusive, secure, and equitable. Through real-world case studies, it will highlight how indigenous-led health initiatives in Canada, AI-powered diagnostics in Nigeria, and digital health transformation efforts in Sri Lanka are reshaping healthcare accessibility and patient outcomes. Additionally, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will serve as a case study on advancing digital health governance through emerging tech-driven policies and medical data solutions. The discussion will focus on multi-stakeholder collaboration in designing and deploying ethical, interoperable, and data-sovereign healthcare systems. Speakers will address policy and governance questions/challenges in integrating AI-powered health analytics, securing patient data, and ensuring responsible adoption of emerging technologies in diverse healthcare ecosystems. By bringing together global healthcare leaders, technologists, and policymakers, this workshop aims to showcase best practices, identify governance gaps, and drive forward a collaborative approach to emerging technology adoption in healthcare.
