Networking globally and acting locally: 25 years of the Association for Progressive Communication (APC) working for an internet for all
- Description
The session will be an opportunity to share highlights of the work that the APC has been doing for 25 years around social justice and development by promoting an internet for all. It will present an historic retrospective and an current reflection of why it is significant that a civil society network and organisation has been around for 25 years working for democratisation of internet access; for a transparent, inclusive and accountable internet governance based on human rights and the public interest; and for applying the transformative capacity of internet to strengthen women’s movement and women’s rights agendas. It will provide people with an opportunity to find out how they can become part of or work more closely with the APC.
